The Boy on the Swing

Brewery Tobacco Factory, Bristol

Joe Harbot’s play is a clever one: We live in a consumerist society so, given that our deities are made in our own image, God is surely the head of a business corporation. If you want to see Him you are going to have to pay.

Five actors work with dark comedy to create a tense 75 minute production.

Design by Elizabeth Harper

Cut Throat

The Irish Centre, Camden Fringe

"How far can you go in the name a free speech? Does having the right to speak equal having the right to say everything? 15 actors try to answer those questions for you.
In Cut Throat, the right to speak does not come with a promise that the speech be valid or harmless. The frenzy of communication in the world today has never been so void of actual connections and exchanges. Cut Throat echoes those venomous Facebook comments and declarations that seem worryingly familiar. An irreverent and immersive theatre performance that will make you laugh and cringe."

Start Swimming

Nonsuch Studios, Nottingham

Nonsuch's NYPT group of 16-25 year olds performed James Fritz's play to sell out audiences, using physicality, direct address, minimal set/ props, and all under-scored by Ines Samapio's sound design.

A Midsummer Night's Dream

The Pleasance, London

An 8 actor, reversed gender production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
(I.e. Oberon, was a woman, played by a woman. Helena, was a man, played by a man).

This concept was very insightful into character; eliminating gender stereotypes and allowed us to reconsider how the comedy is created.

We wanted the piece to compliment the black box space. We explored “theatre magic” rather than “nature and fairy magic”. The design was an old abandoned theatre space, and Puck’s monologues book ending the production.

As You Like It

The Dell, RSC / Bristol Shakespeare Festival /  Pitton Fete

A five actor “troupe” of actor/musicians who performed an adaptation of “As You Like It” on a mini-tour of indoor and outdoor venues.

The set was simple; 5 wooden coat stands which were light enough for the actors to move and change configuration. All set and costume changes were performed by the cast visibly on stage and linked into seamless scene changes. All of the props and costume were brought on/off by the actors within four vintage suitcases.

The music was created live on stage by the cast and complimented the rustic “country” atmosphere we wished to create.
